Here following some of our suggestions to experience at best your travel on the road:
Start your day with a visit at the Santa Rosalia Santuary, a beautiful church placed in a cave dedicated at “la Santuzza”, the Patroness of Palermo. From here you can enjoy a wonderful panorama of the Gulf of Palermo, the preferred bathing place of the locals. Mondello is a mandatory stop, have a nice aperitif or meal along the seaside (we suggest the pasta with sea urchins, classic dish of the local cuisine).
Once back in the hotel we wait for you on the terrace on our top floor for a Signature Drink. To end the day we suggest you the excellent pizzeria Frida in the heart of Palermo.
Just 20 minutes away from Palermo it’s a must to visit Monreale with its astonishing Duomo, the cloyster and the Belvedere gardens with the amazing panorama.
Continue the day in Cefalù, about 50 km from Palermo, with its small streets in the historic centre, the antique washhouse and the majestic Cathedral (take the time for an aperitif with view on the Cathedral). For lunch we suggest the restaurant Lo Scoglio Ubriaco, with its terrace on the seaside. Relax with a swim in the sea along the beach clubs or on the shore next to the historic centre.
On the last day of the tour, we suggest to leave after breakfast to the westcoast of the island, a quick stop at Castellamare del Golfo at the Sorgente bar for a break to taste the cassatella with ricotta cheese, a local specialty. Continue the tour to Scopello, visit the tonnara (tuna fish catching area) take a swim in the water watching the stacks. The local specialty for a quick bite is the “pane cunzato”, bread with tomato, olive oil, primo sale cheese, oregan and anchovies.
Now you will se eone of the most beautiful shores of the coast, the Natural Reserve dello Zingaro (Reserve of the Gipsy). Go towards the crystalline water on foot in one of the coves. Once you come back to the hotel let our concierge suggest you a restaurant for an unforgettable last dinner in Palermo.
